Ranieri and Co, the ANZ podcast company launched by former TRIBE executives Rob Ranieri and Nick Randall, has appointed Sammy Major as its first head of commercial and partnerships.

Major is the former head of sales for TRIBE in Australia and New Zealand and was the commercial director of HuffPost Australia before that.

She brings ten years of digital media experience to the role, including working across native content at realestate.com.au as group sales manager for NSW and QLD – Media

Randall said now was the right time for the podcast company to continue its growth trajectory.

“I am genuinely thrilled that we have been able to attract someone of Sammy Major’s calibre to oversee our next stage of growth at Ranieri and Co. The podcasting industry is such an electric place to be right at this moment with the continued surge in listenership aligning perfectly with marketers desire to reach highly attentive audiences at scale. Sammy is highly respected and brings an abundance of passion, creativity and leadership to both Ranieri and Co. and the podcasting industry here in Australia,” he said. Ranieri said Major was the obvious choice for the role.

“We are so incredibly excited to appoint Sammy as our Head of Commercial and Partnerships. As the Ranieri and Co. offering broadens and becomes more intricate, from creating original series to branded content to integrated ad placements in some of the world’s most popular shows, it made perfect sense to bring someone on board with Sammy’s expertise. Her extensive and successful career commercialising a range of impressive internationals made bringing her onboard a no-brainer, but as Nick and I have also worked with Sammy previously, we further know she’ll add so much to the Ranieri and Co. culture,” he said.

Major said she was delighted to be joining the company and representing it in the market.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Ranieri & Co as a co-owner and the Head of Commercial and Partnerships. Having worked with both Rob and Nick previously, we share very similar values and are passionate about delivering first-class measurable campaigns that yield optimal results for our clients,” she said.

“To represent such a reputable podcasting heavy-weight like Wondery in the Australian market and assist brands in developing effective and engaging branded content, is an absolute privilege."

I very much look forward to reconnecting with agencies and clients after becoming a mother for the first time in February this year.”
