Today Wondery is re-releasing episodes of Legal Wars to coincide with the release of the Netflix film of the same name, Trial of The Chicago 7. Now you might be asking yourself, “Why would I listen to a podcast when I can just watch the movie?” and that’s a great question, asked by a handsome man.
Legal Wars is based on extensive interviews and court transcripts to bring the listener inside the courtroom to understand the consequences of the great court battles in American history. Hosted by Hill Harper, a Harvard Law graduate and actor (The Good Doctor, CSI: NYC, Limitless), who brings these larger-than-life characters to life, along with the real impact and ramifications these cases would have on American society.
It’s different strokes for different folks. While you may prefer the dramatisation of the Trial of The Chicago 7 in the film, maybe want a better understanding of the legal nuances of the case.
Or, like me, you enjoy both!
It should also be noted that Wondery’s Trial of The Chicago 7 will end up having around an extra 40 minutes of run-time over the course of the four episodes, compared to the Netflix films 2 hours and 10 minutes. This allows the podcast to go into more specific detail and spend more time on some of the more complicated nuances of the case.
If you’ve gotten this far and have no idea what I’m talking about, then listen to the first two episodes from Wondery today!
